This is a work in progress. Might look finished at a glance but it is no where near finished to me. It needs much more detail and a lot of fixing up. I stopped because I wasn't feeling too well and couldn't force myself to continue with it.

Why an owl? I couldn't think of anything else.

I wanted it to be a Powerful Owl.. because they're endangered.. but they're also ugly.. so it's not. I think it's closer to an Eagle owl.. but I kinda made up parts of it. I was using a few different reference pictures of owls of different ages and at different angles (and probably of different breeds) and merged them together somehow.. in the end I really was just making it up.

It's acrylic on a big piece of masonite board. It's 100cm by 70cm. Biggest I've ever done.. I wanted the size to have an impact. That's a little hard on the net.. so to see it in perspective.. see me standing next to it here: [link]
